This co-led training of nurse and chef teaches participants how to identify conditions that require special diets; such as learning to prepare foods low in cholesterol. Participants are then taught how to safely prepare tasty meals that support healthy choices in order to reduce emergency room visits, and avoid hospitalizations. This is achieved via a 3 Part series:
Session 1- Nutritious and Appealing Breakfasts
Session 2- Low Fat/Sodium Meals
Session 3– Meals High in Essential Fluids and Nutrients
Upon completion, caregivers will begin to see themselves as vital agents for their patients’ nutrition management and be more thoughtful and skilled in meal planning and preparation.
